You FuTuRe Volunteers in Action: Raising Disaster Awareness Among Children
As SORGED (Sorgun Youth Association), we are proud to announce that as part of the You FuTuRe project—supported by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and funded by the European Commission—our volunteers visited Mehmet Akif Secondary School to carry out meaningful activities with children.
The event focused on increasing disaster awareness among students through fun, engaging, and educational workshops. Our volunteers interacted with the children through games and creative tasks designed to teach them how to stay safe and prepared during emergencies.
We believe that raising awareness at an early age is a key step toward building resilient communities. Together with our young volunteers, we are committed to empowering future generations with the knowledge and tools they need to respond effectively to disasters.
We thank the school administration for their warm welcome and look forward to continuing our field work in support of disaster preparedness and solidarity.
