SEARCH AND RESCUE TRAINING
Our “Protect Your Future with Disaster Awareness (YouR FuTuRe)” project, supported by the European Commission and carried out under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program, is proceeding at full speed.
Our volunteers from 7 different countries are actively participating in training sessions aimed at developing their knowledge and skills in disaster preparedness and response. Today, during the hands-on training program hosted by the Yozgat AFAD Provincial Directorate, AFAD experts provided comprehensive and field-oriented training.
As part of the training, volunteers had the opportunity to:
* Practice techniques for quickly and correctly setting up tents in emergency situations,
* Gain hands-on experience with proper firefighting methods during simulated fire scenarios,
* Learn how to use airbag sets, which are critical for debris removal operations,
* Learn how to use debris-penetrating listening devices used in post-disaster search and rescue operations.
Through these training sessions conducted with realistic scenarios, the volunteers gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience, equipping them to respond more consciously and effectively in potential disaster situations.
As SORGED, we continue to support such training programs aimed at raising young people’s awareness of disasters and enhancing social resilience.
