We are continuing our efforts to raise disaster awareness through our “You FuTuRe – Protect Your Future with Disaster Awareness” project, which is supported by the European Union and implemented by the Sorgun Youth Association (SORGED) under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program.

Our volunteers from various countries continue to share the knowledge and experience they gained from theoretical and hands-on training provided by experts from the Yozgat Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) with students in Sorgun.

Through interactive workshops, educational games, and group activities held in schools, they teach students how to be prepared for earthquakes, fires, floods, and other disasters; the correct behaviors to adopt in emergencies; and the importance of an emergency kit.

With these efforts, we aim not only to enhance students’ disaster awareness but also to enable young volunteers to contribute to local solidarity by sharing what they have learned with the community.

We would like to thank the Yozgat AFAD Provincial Directorate for their valuable contributions to the educational process, as well as the school administrations and teachers who opened their doors to our activities.
