It began wıth an orıentatıon program.

The new volunteers for our “You FuTuRe – Protect Your Future with Disaster Awareness” project, which we are carrying out under the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) supported by the European Commission, began their activities in Sorgun with an orientation program.

During the first few days, icebreaker activities and team-building games were organized to help our volunteers get to know each other better and adjust to their new environment. An introduction to Sorgun and the surrounding area was provided, sharing information about daily life in the city, key landmarks, and local resources.

As part of the orientation, information was also provided about Erasmus+, the European Solidarity Corps, and youth opportunities across Europe. We discussed in detail with our volunteers the project’s objectives, planned activities, work schedule, duties and responsibilities, as well as the basic rules to follow throughout the project.

During the informational session led by our mentor, topics such as the volunteers’ rights and responsibilities, their contribution to the learning process, mentoring and support mechanisms, as well as living together and teamwork were emphasized.

By answering the volunteers’ questions, we helped them begin the project process with greater awareness and preparation.

Now that we’ve gotten to know each other, Sorgun, and our project better, we’re continuing our You FuTuRe journey together!
